Safety and privacy

Kidscient is used by children, so we hold it to a higher bar than an adult app. This page says plainly what we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it, and what you control. The privacy policy has the legal detail.

Our promises

No ads, no selling

No advertising, no ad or analytics trackers, no selling or renting data. Your child never sees a price, a purchase button or an upsell.

Never used to train AI

Your child's voice, words, photos and work are used only to help your child. We don't train AI models on them, and our AI providers' business terms don't allow them to.

Parents first

A parent creates the account and gives permission before any child uses Kidscient. Sensitive features stay off until you turn them on, child by child.

Delete whenever you want

Delete a child's profile or your whole account from the parent area.

Who processes data for us

We use a few providers under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us. The main ones:

The full, current list is in the privacy policy.

US law asks apps for children under 13 to get a parent's verifiable permission before collecting a child's information. Kidscient does this with a card check: paid families give permission at checkout, and free families see a 50¢ charge that is refunded the same day. You can review or withdraw permission at any time by deleting your child's profile.

Questions parents ask

Does Kidscient show ads or sell data?
No. There are no ads and no advertising or analytics trackers in Kidscient. We do not sell, rent or trade anyone's data.
Is my child's data used to train AI?
No. We never use your child's data to train AI models, and we use our AI providers under business terms that do not let them train on it.
What does Kidscient know about my child?
A first name, a grade, and what they do in Kidscient: their sessions with Curio, the work they share, and their progress. We don't ask for a last name, birthday, school, photo of your child or location.
Who can see my child's conversations?
You can, in the parent area. Our small team can look at a session only to fix a problem or check safety. Nothing your child says or makes is ever shown to other families or posted anywhere by us.
How do I delete our data?
In the parent area you can delete one child's profile or your whole account. Deletion removes the child's sessions, transcripts and files. You can also start from app.kidscient.com/delete-account.
