About Kidscient

What is Kidscient?
Kidscient is a learning app for children aged 5 to 13 (kindergarten to 8th grade) in the United States. Its coach, Curio the cheetah cub, teaches math at the child's level, helps with homework in every subject without giving answers, and helps with reading and writing homework. Parents manage everything and see what their child did.
Who makes Kidscient?
Kidscient is built by a small independent team in the United States. It is not owned by a tutoring chain or a school-software company.
What ages and grades is it for?
Children aged 5 to 13, from kindergarten to 8th grade. Kidscient is not built for high school or high-school test prep.
Is Kidscient a replacement for Kumon or RSM?
For many families it can do the daily practice and homework part those programs do, at home and for much less. It does not give your child a human teacher or classmates. See our comparison.
Does it follow the school curriculum?
Math lessons follow the US Common Core progression by level, so they line up with what most US schools teach. Homework help works with whatever your child's school assigns.

How it works

Does Curio give answers?
No. Curio asks what your child thinks, gives a hint, and waits. Your child does the work and writes the answer. Math answers and steps are checked by code, not guessed by AI.
Does my child talk or type?
Mostly talk. Curio is voice-first, so children who can't type yet can use it. Curio talks back and draws on a whiteboard.
How long is a session?
About 10 to 20 minutes. Curio wraps up at a natural stopping point and never cuts a child off mid-lesson.
Which devices?
iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, and a web browser on a computer. One account works everywhere.
Can my child use it alone?
Yes, after you set it up. That's the point: your child gets help without needing you beside them. You see a note afterward.
What does a parent see?
What got done, what your child did alone, where they needed help, and something to praise. You can read full conversations. For reading, you see words correct per minute and accuracy.

Safety and privacy

Are there ads?
No ads and no ad or analytics trackers, ever.
Do you sell data or train AI on it?
No. We don't sell or rent data, and we never use children's data to train AI models.
How is my child kept safe?
In homework help, every Curio reply is checked before your child sees it. Worrying moments are flagged to you, and sensitive features are off until you turn them on. More on safety.
How do I delete our data?
From the parent area, delete a child's profile or your whole account. You can also start at app.kidscient.com/delete-account.
Why do you need my card for a free account?
To confirm a parent is giving permission, as US children's privacy law (COPPA) expects. Free families see a 50¢ charge, refunded the same day.
